MENTAL HEALTH LIBERATION
Liberate, heal, thrive
Community-funded mental health therapy and peer support for Black, Brown, Indigenous, and People of Color
Marginalized communities deserve equitable access to culturally responsive, collective-trauma informed, identity-affirming mental health care.
Together, we bridge racialized communities with fully-funded therapy and care coordination. We empower BIPOC students, emerging clinicians, and mental health justice advocates.
Towards Collective Liberation and Healing
Our Mission and Work
Mental Health Liberation is a grassroots, LGBTQ-BIPOC–led nonprofit rooted in Healing Justice principles. We center the wellbeing of multiply-marginalized communities by advancing care practices that are culturally responsive, collective trauma-informed, and identity-affirming. We co-create offerings uplifting community care, safety, and healing.
Our work includes:
- Bridging Black, Brown, Indigenous and racialized communities with fully-funded mental health therapy and care coordination
- Empowering future generations of racialized therapists and mental health justice advocates through peer support, mentorship, and politicized education
- Disrupting systemic barriers through advocacy, community education, mutual-aid efforts, and movement organizing
- Reclaiming healing practices, in connection with Land and lineage, centering communities that have been systemically oppressed, displaced, and neglected
We are an ecosystem of practitioners, survivors, educators, and advocates working at the intersections of racial justice, 2SLGBTQIA+ liberation, and disability justice. We build collective power through collaboration, cross-movement solidarity, and long-term organizing – until we’re ALL FREE.
